Interserve is a community of Christians serving alongside the peoples of Asia and the Arab world in their home countries and among diaspora groups in Australia.

We seek to bring hope and transformation through Christ to individual lives and communities. We work as doctors, accountants, entrepreneurs, Bible teachers, community development workers and more, to meet needs and build capacity in local communities.

This is an exciting new role, created for the purpose of growing relationships with existing and new supporters. The successful candidate will walk alongside, envision, equip and engage with people to support mission. The main responsibility will be for growing engagement in giving (fundraising), while recognising that prayer and discipleship are integral to Christian giving.

Working within the Community Engagement team, this role will focus on one-on-one relationships, connecting each person, family or church with opportunities to engage that are relevant and meaningful to them. Hours are flexible and it can be based in Interserve’s Victoria (Bayswater) or New South Wales (St. Leonards) office.
About the role:
Tailored to your skill mix, you’ll be required to:
  • Develop cohesive and relevant supporter journeys, overseeing communication to the various supporter segments.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with existing supporters and supporting churches.
  • Seek and establish new relationships with prospective new major donors.
  • Connect supporters with Interserve events and other opportunities to help them engage in meaningful and relevant ways.
  • Develop a bequest program.
  • Assist mission workers to develop financial and prayer support teams.

About you:
We’d love to discuss your education and experience which may include:
  •  Qualifications and/or commensurate experience in marketing, sales, fundraising, communications or other relevant field.
  • Demonstrated relationship management and communication skills.
  • Experience in CRMs (Interserve uses Salesforce).
  • Experience in fundraising and in donor relations an advantage.
  • Experience in a ministry or cross-cultural context an advantage.
The successful employee must be a committed servant of Christ and others, passionate about mission, enthusiastic about Interserve’s distinctives and values, and dedicated to financial and fundraising approaches that are consistent with Biblical principles.
