About this Opportunity:
Reporting to the ACNZ Council - the Principal of Alphacrucis College New Zealand (ACNZ) is the Chief Executive Officer and responsible for all aspects of the operations of ACNZ within the guidelines set by the Council including providing leadership to the academic and administrative staff and students of ACNZ.

Your new team:
AC is at the forefront of equipping leaders for careers of influence in theology, ministry, business, leadership, teaching, music, chaplaincy, community services and counselling. As the national ministry training college of the Australian Christian Churches since 1948, thousands of our graduates are making a difference for Jesus in churches, businesses, government, classrooms and not-for-profit organisations.
The key responsibilities of the Principal include (but are not limited to):
  • Promotion of the spiritual purposes of the College through the development and integration of a Christian worldview into the community life, teaching, and activities of the College;
  • Management of the College, including stewardship and maintenance of College property, appointment and management of staff, compliance with relevant external bodies, financial management, oversight of core institutional documents, and implementation of good business practice;
  • Facilitation of the academic development and advancement of the College through the accreditation and offering of vocational and tertiary education awards and the fostering of academic staff research;
  • Development and maintenance of communication and interaction with A/G and other Christian communities in order to maintain a strong constituency connection with the College;
  • Facilitation of the strategic planning process of the College, including the development and refinement of a rolling five-year strategic plan, incorporation of the achievement of the strategic plan into the key activities of the College, and communication with the Council;
  • Promotion of the College in order to raise its profile and enhance its reputation as a preferred study option and to facilitate an effective fundraising program;
  • Perform such other duties as may be required by Council from time to time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An earned doctorate in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution is preferred but candidates with Masters qualifications with experience in academic administration will also be considered;
  • At least five years’ experience in post-secondary education, including teaching, administrative, supervisory, and leadership experience will also be considered;
  • Commitment to the Christian faith that informs one’s professional and personal choices and commitments;
  • Understanding of the mission of higher education and vocational training within the church;
  • A strategic thinker with project planning and implementation skills;
  • Proven experience in interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to identify and address key issues and demonstrate team leadership;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and constituents;
  • Ability to hire, mentor, supervise and motivate staff;
  • Credentialed with Assemblies of God (A/G) or Australian Christian Churches (ACC) (or similar denomination) and having a recognized profile within the movement and understanding of its ethos.
