Our Daily Bread Ministries’ Australian operations are an integral part of a global Christian organisation dedicated to sharing the life-changing wisdom of God’s Word. We’re a non-denominational, non-profit organisation with staff and volunteers in over 35 offices working together to distribute more than 60 million resources in 150 countries. 

Position Summary

In this role you will be an integral part of the Ministry Team, which seeks to engage and enhance our relationships with our readers, churches, and our ministry partners across all channels. You will also be working closely with the Digital Marketing team.

You will often be the first point of contact and will be required to have a passion for handling phone, email and mail requests from the readers of Our Daily Bread. You will be required to proactively grow, develop and enhance long-term, trusting relationships with the readers of Our Daily Bread and our range of  Biblical resources, with a view to empowering readers and ministry partners to share our resources digitally and in print. 

You will be required to think like one of our readers and understand the needs of the user, helping you to focus on maximising the reader’s experience and satisfaction which will determine the appropriate customer service.

From time to time you may also assist with opening mail and processing donations into the CRM,  ensuring that they are handled accurately.

You should have a passion for ministry and helping people. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage inbound calls and deliver excellent service in line with our mission and vision. 
  • Proactively manage appropriate responses to phone and email enquiries.
  • Initiate outbound calls to ODB readers, pastors and partners by telephone and/or email enhancing relationships.
  • Be able to identify new ministry opportunities to recommend appropriate resources.
  • Support the mail room and donation processing where necessary.
  • Provide necessary support to the wider ministry team when required.

What you will bring to our team 

  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, show initiative and multi-task. 
  • Excellent relationship skills internally and externally.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, for a broad range of audiences.
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • A love of teamwork and enjoy working in a busy environment.
  • Excellent computer literacy, with CRM proficiency, word and excel.
  • A strong conviction of the life changing power of the gospel of Christ and active participation in the life of a church through attendance and ministry involvement. 

Highly Regarded Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity and experience in engaging with Australian churches or previous experience in the Not-for-Profit sector, preferably faith-based.
  • Experience in working with people from different ethnic, language, and cultural backgrounds in customer service.
  • Tertiary qualifications in ministry, sales and marketing or a related field and/or 1-3 years related Industry experience. 
  • Previous event management experience.
  • Effective time Management skills.
