Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Australia/New Zealand is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to provide hands-on leadership to marketing and communications projects and to implement the overall strategic plan for each organisation. 

This person will lead and develop the marketing and communications staff, and direct and implement workflow from project creation to on-time delivery of high-quality materials across multiple platforms. This role is critical to informing our supporters about our activities, fundraising and engaging with our donors, and building and sustaining relationships with partner organisations. 

The role provides marketing and communications oversight for three ministries; Samaritan’s Purse (SP) which includes Operation Christmas Child (OCC) as a subsidiary and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) for Australia and New Zealand to further the achieving of our mission to proclaim the Good News of hope in Jesus Christ.

As Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Working together with the Executive Director and the International Headquarters (IHQ) Communications representatives, to recommend ministry specific strategic plans and develop tactical communications projects and fundraising campaigns.
  • Planning, researching, testing and implementing the production of the marketing and fundraising strategies using all types of media, including; newsletters, print, video, web, and digital media.
  • Developing and managing the production of educational and promotional material to equip organisational managers, representatives and volunteers to represent the organisations in churches, schools, workplaces, major events and conferences.
  • Helping to develop resources for fundraising strategies that recruit new supporters, retain current supporters and increase financial support for all three ministry organisations.
  • Managing and developing staff within the marketing and communications department and managing outsourced service providers.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor-level degree appropriate to the position and minimum 3 years of management experience in a similar role
  • Agreement and compliance with the SP, OCC and BGEA Statements of Faith, Mission Statements and policies
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, planning and organisational skills
  • Experience in print and digital media
  • Experience with writing and producing newsletters and donor-centered communications
  • Experience managing department budgets
  • Willing to work alongside marketing team to achieve organisational goals
  • Proven ability to lead and manage staff and provide strategic direction
  • Ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously within a team environment
  • Maintain an active relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Maintain membership in good standing in a local church
