About Second Chances SA Inc.
Second Chances SA is a non-profit volunteer organisation committed to restoring hope in the lives of prisoners, their families and their communities across South Australia.
We currently have a Federally funded project called “Getting Ready for Take Off” which aims to equip young adults to become highly motivated individuals who want to work with a Life Coach. The aim is to establish a career pathway to employment, thus creating a better future for themselves and to break the generational cycle of welfare dependency.

This is very exciting time for Second Chances SA as we have been afforded an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young Adults who have or may have had a parent incarcerated.

About the role
As a Life Coach, you will be responsible for Life Coaching young adults to find their passion in life and motivating them to achieve their career goals with the outcome of becoming job ready. To also promote the project to potential stakeholders within the Adelaide metro areas assigned to you.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for: 
  • Encouraging and motivating participants through appropriate activities to establish their own educational pathway
  • Placing participants into sustainable education pathways to employment leading to positive outcomes;
  • Ensuring all activity is appropriately recorded, documented and adheres to compliance and/or contractual requirements.
  • Being able to manage and facilitate small group workshops
This opportunity is a fulltime position until 30 March 2021 with the possibility of further funding
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Be a Life Coach /Mentor with proficient skills and experience
  • Have a working understanding of educational pathways to Employment Services and experience in a similar role;
  • Show attention to detail
  • Prove to have excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Function with superior organisational and time management skills;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills & the ability to build rapport effectively;
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritise workload;
  • Adhere to the values and mission of Second Chances SA
  • Hold a current driver's license
  • Hold a valid WWCC (Working with children clearance)
  • Have valid Childsafe Mandatory Training
  • Commit to and proven experience providing excellent customer service; and 
  • Demonstrate capability with appropriate technology to meet the needs of the role.
