Title: Outreach Youth worker
Hours: 16 hours a week
Goal: To ensure that young people within Fusion’s programs, networks and partner communities are effectively supported and equipped.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Engage with Fusion’s various programs and networks
  2. Help to identify young people who might benefit from additional support
  3. Develop and implement case support plans for identified young people to assist their growth
  4. Maintain administration of files associated with young people including record and submit client data in application data
  5. Assist the development of supports including programs and events
  6. Attend training as required
 
Standard of Performance:
  • Maintain an awareness of Fusion’s various programs and networks and the young people they engage with.
  • Set and maintain reasonable case plans in association with Fusion team
  • Work within Fusion’s policies
  • Negotiate hours around camps, pilgrimages and other events
Key Selection Criteria:
The successful applicant will have:
  • An agreement to work within Fusion’s Code of Conduct.
  • The ability to build relationships with young people and maintain professional caring relationships of trust.
  • An awareness of the researched needs of young people in general.
  • A willingness to learn about and respond to the unique needs of specific young people.
  • The ability to network with other Church communities and agencies.                     
  • Experience leading teams and building rapport with volunteers.
  • The ability to research data as necessary for fulfilment of role
  • The ability to verbally communicate effectively to large groups.
  • The ability to coordinate events and build momentum around social advocacy.
  • Strong ICT knowledge.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team and the ability to work independently
  • The ability to self-direct, manage time effectively, and remain properly organised.
  • A willingness to work from a framework of Christian values and Fusion’s mission, and to participate in Fusion’s training.
  • Evidence of current working with Children’s check and giving consent for Fusion to conduce a National Police Records Check before commencing role.
