SMG is the employer of more than 300 Pastoral Care Workers in SA Government schools and is an approved Chaplaincy Service provider of the South Australian Department for Education (DFE) through the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP).
SMG is seeking expressions of interest from prospective professionals interested in joining the SMG Board that will complement the balance of skills and experience of existing Directors. You will offer, on a voluntary basis, a variety of leadership skills, experience and personal/cultural characteristics that will support SMG to continue to best serve this important organisation and outcomes for young people.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate the ability to contribute to sound governance expertise and have a desire and commitment to improving outcomes and strategic business practices for SMG and its vision to help young people discover purpose, value and hope. The Board is seeking applications from prospective applicants with skills in areas including primary and secondary education, marketing, public relations, media engagement, public policy/advocacy/lobbying, legal/compliance, technology/IT, government/public policy, health/community and not-for-profit.

If you are committed to improving the lives of children and young people in our schools, and feel you can add value to SMG and its mission, we would welcome your application. As a Christian organisation the successful Director will also need to demonstrate similar beliefs. Please submit a 1 page cover letter outlining your competencies and how your strategic experience would contribute to the mission of SMG, along with an up-to-date CV. A current DCSI clearance will be required for successful candidates.

To submit your application, in strict confidence, please email your CV and cover letter via the 'Apply Now' button.  Alternatively, for a confidential discussion, please contact Andrew Sullivan or Sheridan Calverley on 0417 859 004. Applications close at 9.00am on Monday 6 May 2019.
