The College:  St Barnabas College (SBC) is committed to encouraging people to know and love God through learning in community and equipping them to serve the world in the 21st Century Church. Learning occurs in a community that is prayerful, encouraging, thoughtful and scholarly, and ecumenical.
 
SBC was founded in 1880 and serves the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide, the Province of South Australia and the wider church in theological education and ministry formation, and as a theological resource for the public good. The College is owned by the Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide.
 
Through its affiliation with St Mark’s National Theological Centre, Canberra, SBC offers theology awards of Charles Sturt University (CSU).

The Vision of St Barnabas College is to be a college of ministry providing theological and ministry education and support for those preparing for ordination, those who are ordained and those exercising lay ministry and leadership roles in the Diocese of Adelaide and the Province of South Australia.

The Role:  The Principal has overall responsibility for the strategic direction, development and leadership for academic and administration operations of St Barnabas College. 
 
The Successful Applicant:  Will be an Ordained priest of the Anglican communion able to be licensed in the Diocese of Adelaide holding Postgraduate qualifications in theology or a related discipline with a good understanding of the Australian Tertiary Education sector.
 
The role includes:
  • Providing Godly academic leadership
  • Ensuring pastoral care of students and staff
  • Fostering a vibrant, hospitable and inclusive College community in worship, prayer and life together
  • Catalysing strategic direction and development, and
  • Ensuring sound financial and administrative management of the College.
 
Skills you will need:
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity
  • Highly developed organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level public speaking skills
  • Experience in working in the higher education industry
 
You will need to be an Anglican Priest in good standing who is committed to the church’s mission and to furthering that mission through high quality, accessible theological and ministry education that serves the strategic needs of the church in the Province of South Australia.
