About the role
HammondCare is opening Victoria’s first dementia specific village and we’re seeking an exceptional clinician to play a key role in the management of the service. You will be a strong advocate for clinical best practice within the village.  Working alongside the Residential Manager you will actively empower care staff, and the broader team, to deliver tailored and meaningful care in a style that aims to maximise resident satisfaction. As a mission driven organisation, we put people first.

Working within HammondCare’s unique model of care the Assistant Manager is responsible for the clinical care of the home. The role ‘steps up’ when the Residential Manager is on leave.

The essence of this role:
• Provide support to the Residential Manager to ensure the efficient management of the village home and ensure high quality care is provided.
• Carries out operational management of the Residential Care home in the absence of the Manager
• Work in conjunction with other Service and Managers in the region to share best practice and improve service levels to older people in need.
About you
• Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
• Significant practical clinical experience working in a residential care environment
• Registered Nurse (Div 1) APHRA registration
• Working knowledge of Dementia and experience in caring for people with Dementia
• Experience managing a team of skilled professionals
• Ability to logically prioritise varying work demands
• Flexibility in approach to work and hours
• Adaptability and commitment to change management
• An understanding of aged care funding processes and required documentation
• Working knowledge of the Residential Accreditation standards
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Strong administrative and computer skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
