About the role
The role of the Pastoral Care and Volunteer Coordinator works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to lead and coordinate a team of volunteers to provide pastoral care and other support to HammondCare’s clients living in their own homes. This role will also provide pastoral support to staff and client’s families and act as a role model for staff and as an advocate for the organisation’s mission and Christian values. They share their pastoral expertise to coach staff and volunteers to support the spiritual needs of clients. 

The essence of this role:
• Develop, support and guide a team of volunteers to provide support to clients
• Provide pastoral support for staff, client’s families, and clients (on occasion)
• Act as a role model for staff and as an advocate for the organisation’s mission and Christian values.
• Share their pastoral expertise and coach staff and volunteers to support the spiritual needs of the patients and clients.

More about you
• Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
• An Ordained Minister or Credentialed Pastoral Care qualification or recognised theological/pastoral qualifications.
• Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement is essential.
• A current Australian Class C Driver’s Licence, a safe driving record, and your own reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle. Willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services.
• Demonstrated aptitude for team leadership.
• Strong administrative and computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as well with other staff.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and develop a team and effectively work with other staff.
• Attitude of service with a pastoral heart and initiative.
• High level crisis Management & Conflict Management skills.
• Advanced communication skills including compassion and empathy.
• Attitude of service.
• Good conflict resolution skills.
• Good relationship building skills and empathy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
