Crossway LifeCare is a community transformation organisation with a vision to see people in tough places flourish emotionally, socially, economically and spiritually. We care deeply for the marginalised in society and aim to see lives transformed through holistic and integrated services.
One of the ways we do this is through a program called COACH.
The purpose of this 2 day a week position is to support the delivery of LifeCare's Chinese COACH Community Mentoring program. This will be done through the recruitment, training, screening, matching and supervision of volunteer mentors.
The Chinese COACH Coordinator will mobilise mentors to support families from a chinese background to explore their strengths, define and achieve goals and, ultimately step toward a brighter future.
It will involve overseeing the coordination of the program as well as on-going support for the volunteer mentors. Handling community care enquiries and make referrals where appropriate. Fostering professional, strength based, soluntion focussed, relationships with families and young people connected to Lifecare and COACH.
Qualifications:A Tertiary degree or Diploma in Social Work, Youth work or similiar or working towards such qualification.
Knowledge:Child Protection Legislation
Case Management or Youth Work principles
Skills:Ideally have 12 months experience providing direct case management support to families and / or individuals from Chinese backgrounds.
Fluent speaker of either Mandarin or Cantonese.
Excellent and professional administrative skills
Demonstrated people skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to provide pastoral care to volunteers
