ONE80TC (Teen Challenge NSW Inc) is seeking a Psychologist - AOD General or Clinical with specialist drug and alcohol addictions experience to join the committed team of professionals assisting students on their journey of recovery.

The primary purpose of the Psychologist - AOD is
 
  • To oversee the student care for ONE80TC clients which includes: assess, diagnose and treat individuals suffering from psychological distress and mental illness and perform psychotherapy and develop treatment plans.
  • Liaise with Case Workers, Centre Manager, General Practitioner, Psychiatrist, Mental Health unit and other support workers. 
  • To provide supervision for some staff including former clients
  • To supervise Phycology and counselling students.

This position is open to permanent full time, or part time basis (hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant) or contract work with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at Yarramundi.

Working within the ministry, the candidate will
  • ​Be enthusiastic, self-driven and capable to work as part of the team, supporting clients and staff.
  • Have Tertiary level qualification
  • Registration or membership of professional association.
  • Understanding and specialist experience working with people in addiction with comorbidity mental health and alcohol and other drugs.
  • Oversee all clinical / treatment services within the men’s program / clinical governance and clinical policy development / program development.
  • Undertake staff supervision for some program staff and former clients.
  • Maintain a case load. 
  • (Optional) Initiate a Master of Clinical Psychology placement agreement with WSU, and oversee students. The staff psychologist must be a registered clinical psychologist (not a general psychologist) in order to supervise clinical psychology students.
  • Ability to plan, provide and evaluate therapeutic health/care plans.
  • Established professional supervision with a Senior Clinical Psychologist.
