TEAM LEADER

FUSION YOUTH SERVICES

FULL OR PART TIME 28-38 HRS

The successful applicant will be coordinating a passionate team delivering early intervention programs daily in local high schools, remand centre and community outreach programs. Our team brings a wide range of skills to Fusion’s programs for young people aged 12 to 17 years. Some direct service work and evening work required.

Fusion Australia Limited is a not-for-profit international Christian youth & community development organisation, with over 50 years’ experience in youth work. We are seeking a qualified/experienced senior person to share in the lead our Western Sydney youth work team operating in Mt Druitt, St Mary’s and Penrith. This position is funded by F&CS NSW under the Targeted Earlier Intervention Program and will commence in early to mid January 2019.

Essential Criteria:

∗ Tertiary qualifications in youth work, social work, or related disciplines

∗ Understanding issues facing local young people in Western Suburbs of Sydney

∗ Understanding of and willingness to work within the framework of Christian values

∗ Understanding of theoretical frameworks for working with young people

∗ High level attention to detail and capacity to implement systems for staff

∗ Experience in leading a team, managing budgets, schedules and reporting

∗ Own comprehensively insured vehicle available for work

Desirable Criteria

∗ Degree level qualifications

∗ Understanding and experience in outcomes focused youth work

∗ Experience in providing case support and referral

∗ Experience in providing supervision to staff

∗ Experience with data collection systems for government

It is an offence under the Commission for Children and Young People Act, 1998 for a “prohibited person” to apply for this position. Relevant Criminal History, Apprehended Violence Orders and prior employment checks, including relevant disciplinary proceedings, will be required for recommended applicants.
