About this Opportunity:
Alphacrucis College (AC) is seeking an experienced Programs Assistant to join our Ministry and Leadership faculty, at the Parramatta campus as part of the VET (Vocational Training) Department.  Reporting to the Director of VET Programs (Ministry and Leadership), the primary focus of this role will be to assist in the oversight of Academic policy and procedure implementation within the VET Ministry & Leadership programs, and to assist with the administration and oversight of the Ministry and Leadership programs to online students.
 
This is a casual position (2-3 days a week), based in the Sydney (Parramatta) campus.

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the VET Programs Assistant include (but are not limited to):
  • Assist in the leadership and oversight of the Ministry & Leadership programs. This includes assisting in the development, improvement and re-accreditation of the awards.
  • Assist in the coordination of course offerings in the relevant programs and the day to day operations of the Ministry & Leadership programs.
  • Tutoring within the Ministry & Leadership programs as required.
  • Oversee the marking and provision of assessment feedback to students in the Ministry & Leadership programs.
  • Monitor Moodle assessment records regarding academic results of Ministry & Leadership students and liaise with Ministry & Leadership Program Administrator.
  • Ensure students applying for graduation have satisfied the program requirements.
  • General administration and other duties as determined by the Director of VET Programs (Ministry & Leadership).
  • Participate in various academic and organisational committees as required.
  • Representing the college to the Christian community and general public as opportunity and occasion warrant.
 
To be successful for this position you will have:
  • Completion of a vocational qualification related to Ministry & Leadership and Ministry & Leadership experience.
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally Ministry/Theology and/or Leadership related.
  • TAE40110 or TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment preferred, or willingness to enrol and complete the qualification in the near future
  • Excellent academic administration competence, with proficient computer skills.
  • Proven leadership, people and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality pertaining to work-related communication and student information.
  • Proven organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude under pressure and flexibility when accepting tasks.
  • Commitment to the Christian faith that informs one’s professional and personal choices and commitments.
  • Affinity with the values and traditions of AC as a Pentecostal college.
  • Familiarity with schools, higher education and vocational education systems and processes
 
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
  1. Exceptional organisational and planning skills, and proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  2. High interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) together with exemplary customer service and the ability to relate professionally to colleagues and students.
  3. Experience in an administrative role which required the ability to follow established processes, proactive problem solving skills, coordination of a range of functions and provision of advice about, and interpretation of, policies and procedures, preferable in a tertiary education institution.
  4. Demonstrated initiative, sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
  5. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  6. Detail your capacity to be part of a Christ-centred organisational culture (i.e. details of any Christian faith, values or church involvement, or of your willingness to be part of a Christian organisation).
