Job Description:

Young Life Australia has a part-time chaplaincy position at Belconnen High School offering two days per week working in the school. The school chaplain role is part of the Federal Government's National School Chaplaincy programme initiative.
Young Life Australia is a non-denominational Christian charity that mentors and offers stable, caring role models to young people, operating in a number of urban and rural communities around Australia.
Our focus is to build confidence, values and resilience in Australia's young people through significant relationships with adult role models. Young Life aims to be a leading organisation for positively impacting children and youth, with a resultant positive transformation to the wider community.
Young Life seeks a chaplain who will have a holistic approach to working with children in the high school setting. The position would include offering support and guidance about ethics, values, relationships, spirituality and religious issues to students and their families, teachers and staff. The chaplain would be supported by the Young Life staff and local volunteers.  There may be an opportunity to increase the hours in to 3 days in the future.
The chaplain would be expected to attend an annual training event and would be expected to integrate the role into other Young Life activities and camping programmes.
To be successful in the role you will need to be suitably qualified and confident working with children, have a mature outlook, and agree with the aims and working principles of Young Life and the school chaplaincy programme.
