Activities and programs Box Hill Corps coordinates include; Intercultural ministries (e.g. English Classes); mainly music; Craft Group; Companion Club; Children & Youth Ministries (e.g. Friday FunHub, FaWM, Creative Arts Musical Sections); Community Support Services (Doorways); Sunday Worship Services; Prayer meetings; and Café Salvo.
Position Details/Information
This position will be responsible for supporting the Corps Officer in the delivery of the mission of The Salvation Army and the Box Hill Corps through assisting the facilitation of children and families’ ministry, in an integrated setting. You will be responsible for coordination and development of mission and ministry to children (0-12years) and their families within the City of Whitehorse
Also part of this position is to provide ongoing review of programs and ministries to ensure they are meeting the needs of the community and the Corps and are aligned to the Corps Mission Intentions.

Hours and Award/Salary Level
This is a full time position 38 hours per week ongoing. This position is an Award Free Hay Level 13 with a salary of $60,441.30 p.a.

Job Requirements:

What you can bring
  • Be an enrolled and active soldier of the Salvation Army (essential)
  • Have a diploma of theology or ministry or significant demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills.
  • Plan and lead effective outreach activities that see new children/families introduced to Box Hill through outreach.
  • Be able to develop and activate pastoral capacity in others
  • Lead and develop others in carrying out discipleship
  • Be able to identify people’s needs and appropriate methods for engagement
  • Actively and calmly work to solve problems and resolve conflicts
  • A willingness to undergo a Crimcheck is essential
  • A current Employee Working With Children Check is essential
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
