Our client Bridging the Gap is seeking an experienced Case Worker to join their team in the Youth Hope program.
 
Bridging the Gap (BTG) is a community organisation located in St Marys. The Child, Youth and Family Centre is a multi-disciplinary service with a strong focus on supporting young people and their families. Bridging the Gap is a Christian organisation which stays true to these Values.

In the Youth Hope Program, this position works alongside vulnerable young people aged 9-15 and their families addressing child safety issues.

Job Requirements:

The right person will have a passion to work with young people to build confidence and resilience and make a difference in their lives and have at least 3 years Youth Work experience.
 
Successful applicants will have:
·         Case management experience, including developing case summaries and completing Child Protection reports
·         Experience in completing youth-focused assessments that involve the identification and analysis of safety and wellbeing concerns for the Child or Young Person (CYP)
·         A working knowledge of issues relating to Family Violence, Parental Drug and Alcohol Misuse, Parenting Skills, Child Behaviour Management, Learning Difficulties, Parental Mental Health and Social Isolation
·         Tertiary qualification(s) in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or related field
·         Minimum 3 years’ experience working with vulnerable children
·         Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) people, organisations and communities
·         High level written and verbal communication skills
·         Sound computer and typing skills, including experience in managing electronic files and data bases
·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team
·         Current NSW or National driver’s licence and access to comprehensively insured vehicle
·         Working with Children Check clearance
 
Other desirable criteria include:
·         Experience using Structured Decision Making assessment tools
·         Strong organizational abilities
·         An understanding of family systems theory
·         Working knowledge of the Youth and Family Support sector in the Penrith LGA
·         Flexibility in hours as there may be occasional work after hours
