Job Description:

The school chaplain program provides an important link with the local school community. The school chaplain provides services to students, their families, and staff. Services provided include engagement with and pastoral care and support to staff, students and their families.

As a religious practitioner, this position will provide hope, care and spiritual guidance (where appropriate) to children and their families in the local Frankston area by advocating within and working alongside the school environment and the wider local community within the framework of The Salvation Army’s goals and values.

This position is part time, 16 hours per week (during school terms only) and is available until 31st December 2018. This position is located at Skye Primary School. This position is an Award Free rate of $26.64 gross per hour.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must:
  • Be willing to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
  • Have a Certificate IV in Youth Work or a Certificate IV in Pastoral Care
  • Have experience in delivering chaplaincy in a school environment
  • Have the ability to develop spiritual assessment and spiritual risk screening tools
  • Is credible and truthful – shows integrity
  • Recognises and respects differences in culture, style and viewpoint
  • Manages time and responsibilities
  • Speaks with courtesy; conveys information effectively – verbally and in writing
  • Have a current police check is essential.
  • Have a current Working With Children Check is essential
  • Have a current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
