Women’s Services CALD Officer

ABOUT THE ROLE

BaptistCare HopeStreet, located in Woolloomooloo, is seeking a female part time Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Officer to join the team.  This role is required to support the Women’s Services CALD program, helping women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds working in the sex industry, and build relationships with brothel management and relevant agencies and to provide outreach and one on one support to clients.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The successful applicant will have:
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience working with CALD communities
  • Fluent language skills in either Mandarin, Thai or Korean
  • Demonstrated case work skills and experience and commitment to understanding the sex industry
§  Excellent verbal and written communication skills including computer skills
§  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build quick rapport and establish trust
  • Excellent organisational, time management and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to work individually and as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, and to foster effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, harm minimisation and community development
