Mission Without Borders is a Christian organisation serving children, families and elderly people suffering the effects of poverty and oppression in six Eastern European countries: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.

Through practical and spiritual support we give hope by meeting urgent needs and building self-sufficient communities. We work with thousands of children and families across the region, through local churches, volunteers and our own specialist staff.

We are a cohesive team, sharing great working relationships and frequently supporting each other when needed, in the office environment.

The role
Working in a friendly small office environment, together with a team sharing strong Christian values and partaking in weekly prayer meetings.  The role will suit someone seeking bookkeeping work in such an environment, together with some flexibility in working hours.

The Bookkeeper reports to the National Director of Mission Without Borders Australia and is responsible for the effective and efficient processing of accounting data of MWB Australia.
This is a permanent part-time position of 15 hours per week (minimum 2 days per week), with an initial contract term of one year, to be reviewed annually.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:
• Accounts payable
• Fortnightly Payroll
• Statutory reporting (BAS, PAYG and Superannuation)
• Preparation for annual audit
• Budget monitoring

Essential criteria:
• Bookkeeping\Accounting background
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
• Tertiary qualification in accounting
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Competency in BAS and PAYG reporting
• Organisational and time management skills

• Previous experience with Sage Peachtree Accounting software
• Previous experience with Kwik-Pay payroll software
• Previous experience working in the Not-for-profit sector
• 3 referees including one from Church Minister/Pastor
