Job Description:

  • Large multi-campus Christian school
  • School leadership role
  • Traralgon location

Chairo is a non-denominational, coeducational Christian school in the Cardinia/Casey and Gippsland areas of Victoria, with campuses at Pakenham, Drouin, Drouin East and Leongatha. From 2018, the Traralgon campus of Flinders Christian Community College will become Chairo’s fifth campus as the result of the desire of both schools for Christian education in the Latrobe Valley to be maintained and further developed.
Established in 1983, Chairo has grown remarkably over the years and now provides education from a Christian worldview perspective for more than 1,500 students from Kinder to Year 12. The school’s mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community.
Chairo is currently seeking to appoint a Campus Principal to lead the team at the Traralgon campus with effect from January 2018. Accountable to the Executive Principal, the Campus Principal will be the key educational and administrative leader at the Traralgon Campus.

He or she will therefore be responsible for the effectiveness of the educational practices and programs in a manner consistent with the guidelines and policies set by the school board and Executive Leadership Team. The Campus Principal will also lead by setting a godly example to staff members in their teaching practice, relationships and lifestyle.
Having obtained relevant tertiary qualifications in education and being registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, the successful candidate will also possess the following important characteristics:
  • Demonstrated commitment to the school’s Articles of Faith
  • Experience in a previous educational leadership role
  • Sound knowledge of teaching from a Christian worldview perspective
  • Ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels within the school community
  • Experience as a teacher who leads by example and role models Christian values and lifestyle
The safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all our students is a high priority. As part of our recruitment process, Chairo undertakes rigorous reference and background checking including Working with Children and Police Record checks. Before applying, applicants are requested to review Chairo’s Child Safety booklet.

Applications for this position should be made by completing an online application and submitting this, together with your covering letter and resume, at www.chairo.vic.edu.au/careers.

The closing date for applications is Monday 8th May.
