The Job:
In this role you will be required to provide specialized case management support for survivors of historic abuse and to coordinate and manage the distribution of all external investigations, maintain and provide status reports on all external investigations and grievances and liaise with all relevant stakeholders.

This position would ideally suit an experienced self- starter who is a highly organised Social Worker with experience in Case Management, Mental Health and has provided support to survivors of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.

The Team:
The Centre for Restoration exists to help people who wish to bring a grievance against The Salvation Army—Australia Eastern Territory for abuse suffered.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in case management from a trauma informed strengths based practice.
  • Support of survivors of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
  • An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model the values and ethos of The Salvation Army and to facilitate pastoral support where required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage varying and/or conflicting stakeholder demands.
  • Proven leadership, communications and people management skills.
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful management within a service industry.
  • Experience in high level interpersonal skills, including high level negotiation skills and the ability to relate to people at various levels within The Salvation Army and other external organisations.
  • Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History check.
  • Current NSW Working with children clearance.
  • Understanding of the mission and ministry aspects of The Salvation Army.
  • Experience in social work management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels within the organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and coach team members.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • High level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures.
  • Solid level of computer literacy particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Solid analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
The successful applicant will undergo a criminal history record check as well as a NSW Working With Children Check.
