A little background about Bethany Christian Care, the owner/ operator of Janoah Gardens.
We are a not-for-profit aged care provider established in 1949. Although the organisation has its own entity, it was founded, and is still supported by Christians attached to Christian brethren assemblies (which have no connection with another group known as “Exclusive Brethren”).
We have three villages. Besides Janoah Gardens Retirement Village at Manly West (at which this vacancy has arisen), we own and operate The Plains Retirement Village at Eight Mile Plains (where the Bethany Christian Care office is also located) and Beth Eden Riverside Village at Graceville.
The Care Managers at our three sites maintain regular contact and meet every month as a “Care Management Team” – this makes for a collegial and supportive organisational environment and a forum for collective problem-solving, decision-making and policy development. In addition, Care Managers have access to the help and advice of a highly-supportive “head office” senior management team – for example in financial management and systems/ processes, and a highly-regarded external clinical consultant to whom we have contracted clinical oversight of our facilities.
Janoah Gardens aged care facility is a fully-accredited, 36-bed facility situated at Manly West. Co-located with the aged care facility is a well established retirement village consisting of 84 units and 20 Serviced Apartments.
Some information about the position itself:
The position of Care Manager, Janoah Gardens is ideal for a caring, management-orientated Registered Nurse who relishes the challenge of overseeing the provision of quality, regulatory-compliant and viable aged care services in a supportive Christian environment.
Specifically the successful applicant will:
• Possess strong management skills;
• Be able to operate and oversee Telstra Health (iCare) after full training by us;
• Be well-versed in ACFI and Accreditation;
• Show leadership in working within our Christian philosophy; and
• Be committed to high standards.
Also, as we use Telstra health, and communicate extensively by email, the successful applicant must be computer-literate.
The position would ideally suit a practising Christian – someone who can engender an atmosphere of love and care in the Facility, and lead in the outworking of our Christian philosophy.
