ABOUT Since 1991 Schools Ministry Group have been coordinating Christian ministry in SA Schools through partnership and engagement with the local church and mission organisations, our schools, and state and federal governments. SMG is the employer of more than 300 Pastoral Care Workers (PCW) in SA government schools and is an approved Chaplaincy Service provider of the South Australian Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) through the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP 2015 – 18).
SMG has three main departments which include Chaplaincy Services, Education Services and Community Services.

WHAT DOES SMG DO? SMG provides Chaplaincy Services to government schools through the engagement of a Pastoral Care Worker offering ongoing pastoral and practical support to school communities on behalf of the local community churches.
SMG works together with over 90 Combined Church ‘Support Groups’ across SA to provide support and resources to them as they endeavour to connect with, support and develop positive relationships with young people through their local school communities.
SMG provides training for PCWs and Children’s and Youth Workers for ministry with children and young people in SA schools, Churches or in the wider community.
SMG provides Christian option and values based seminars to schools.
SMG Community Services endeavours to provide welfare services and pastoral care in South Australia for the relief of poverty, suffering and distress amongst children, young people and their families.
